Retreat During Daily Life
An Advent Celebration brought to you by Men's CRHP
The men of the CRHP Formation Team offer a simple way to celebrate the coming of Christ this Advent season. "Retreat During Daily Life" is hosting a 7-day offering of Scripture, Reflection, & Prayer focused on the “O” Antiphons. The Roman Church has been singing the "O" Antiphons since at least the eighth century. They are the antiphons that accompany the Magnificat canticle of Evening Prayer from December 17-23. They utilize ancient biblical imagery drawn from the messianic hopes of the Old Testament to proclaim the coming Christ as the fulfillment not only of Old Testament hopes, but present ones as well. Their repeated use of the imperative "Come!" embodies the longing of all for the Divine Messiah.
The Men’s CRHP Team will present each of them in audio form between December 17 – 23, along with Scripture readings and personal reflection followed by a short prayer. You can experience them on your own time, at your own pace, in your own home or wherever you are. Come reflect and pray with us. Don't worry if you missed a day or two.
