This was my 37th Kairos and I am more certain than ever that this retreat is the work of God’s Holy Spirit. It amazes me to see the joy of the young people as they grasp the possibility of a life that is based on the work of God in their lives. They regain a perspective that has often been lost in the stress of their lives. They glimpse once more that clinging to God in their lives will bring them peace and joy.

The Archdiocese of Chicago is providing a live feed (link to live feed) for those unable to attend the Ordination to the Order of Deacon. The Ordination is Saturday, May 12 at 10:00 am. We are excited for Christopher Weiland as he will be ordained a permanent deacon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Catholic Charities North Regional Services presents the fourth annual Diamonds Are Forever Boutique & Luncheon on Thursday, June 14 at Westmoreland Country Club, 2601 Old Glenview Road in Wilmette. The women of Guilds 14 and 35 hosted a Ladies Garden Tea Party on April 21. Everyone had a lovely time enjoying tea and refreshments as well as a raffle and hat contest. There was a wonderful piano performance by Roger Salemi. It was an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon.

The Seminary Teaching Program Committee at Our Lady of Perpetual Help celebrated their year together with our seminarians and with other Diocesan parish seminary teaching program committee participants at a liturgy and reception on Sunday, April 29 at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein. We are blessed to have our wonderful seminarians at OLPH.
