Our Capital Campaign, “To Teach who Christ Is,” continues to gain momentum. During Lent we can pray the Sorrowful mysteries only. It is a time for us to dwell on Jesus’ suffering and His death. It is a time to look at our lives and examine them in relation to Jesus’ cross. How are we like the Jews of His day who stood before the Truth and said “Crucify Him?” 

Last week, the 6th and 7th graders in Religious Education led everyone in our Program in the Rosary. Together, we contemplated the mysteries of the rosary and reflected on a meditation as a group.

Two Brothers from OLPH Church Journeyed to See the Pope

Two brothers, one a seminarian and another a campus ministry director, traveled to Philadelphia to see Pope Francis. To get there, they took a nineteen hour bus ride with a group of more than fifty pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Chicago. The details these two brothers observed were each slightly different, but both agreed that this opportunity is something they will never forget.

Training for New Ministers of Care Begins September 30

Ministers of Care bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are homebound, living in nursing homes, or in the hospital. They share with them the word of God in scripture, pray with them for the Church and the world, and offer them companionship. Through the Ministry of Care we are able to keep long-time parishioners of OLPH connected and active in our faith community.

Our Yoga Group meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30 am in the Dussman Room. This is theraputic hatha yoga for muscle strength and flexibility. We focus on core strength and alignment. No prior yoga experience is necessary. A donation of $10 per class is requested. 100% of your donation goes directly to "Little by Little" Medical Mission to Haiti.
