If you or someone you know would like to join the Minister of Care ministry, the upcoming training begins Thursday, April 12 at Presence St. Benedict in Niles (Touhy and Milwaukee Avenues). The five-week training occurs over five, consecutive Thursday evenings, 7:00-9:00pm and is  taught by retired priests who live at Presence St. Benedict.

This year during Lent, a group of twelve young people from Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for Our Little Brothers and Sisters) Guatemala, a home for orphaned, abandoned and at-risk youth have been welcomed into the homes of families from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Throughout their stay they are participating in a folkloric music and dance tour to raise awareness and funds at a variety of churches, businesses and schools.

Between March 8 -19, Women's Club Guild 35 is hosting a community diaper drive to address a critical need. Drop off locations are located at OLPH church and school as well as local, participating preschools. Donate ONE dipaer or MANY! The greatest need is for larger sizes, overnights and pull ups.

On Sunday, March 4, the Archdiocese of Chicago recognized young people in Vicariate II who have made significant contributions to their local parishes. Congratulations to parishioner Megan Heublein who was recognized for her contributions to the Teen Choir and for serving as a Cantor at 6:00 pm Mass, a leader in prayer and worship!

NPH is coming to OLPH!

As a means of making Lent more real and compelling to parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, we will be welcoming thirteen young people and two chaperones from the NPH Guatemala orphanage home into our parish from March 6-19. They will be hosted by OLPH families in their homes and they will provide liturgical music at Masses on the weekend of March 10-11.

Effective immediately, all parking spaces behind the Lafayette Building and Rectory, and adjacent to the Parish Ministry Center, are designated as handicapped parking during weekend Masses. Please be considerate of parishioners and visitors needing direct access to the wheelchair/walker path and elevator. Signage will be installed to identify the lot as a handicapped parking lot during weekend Masses.

The St. George Emblem award (presented by Bishop J. Perry at Holy Name Cathedral, January 28) recognizes adults in the Archdiocese for their significant contributions and many years of support for the Catholic Youth Ministry at the local level.
