Sacred choral works by both Fauré and Rutter will highlight the contemplative mood of our 6:00 pm Mass on Sunday, February 18. The OLPH Festival Choir, directed by Russell Stern, will sing. This is not a concert, but the music will serve to enhance the prayerfulness of the Mass.

Given the serious nature of the flu epidemic and many concerns that have been shared about susceptibility to the threat of illness, we are suspending the Sign of Peace and the sharing of the Cup during Mass for the remainder of February. This temporary modification was started this week at daily Masses and is in effect for Sunday Masses and sacramental celebrations. The situation will be reevaluated at the end of the month. Make Lent 2018 More Meaningful – Host Children from NPH Guatemala in Your Home

As a means of making Lent more real and compelling to parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, we will be welcoming thirteen young people and two chaperones from the NPH Guatemala orphanage home into our parish from March 6-19. They will be hosted by OLPH families in their homes and they will provide liturgical music at Masses on the weekend of March 10-11.

The 42nd Annual Roundball Classic begins March 8. This Men's Club sponsored event has truly become the highlight of the year for many of our school children. Close to 100% of the 6th, 7th & 8th graders participate in the event every year with nearly 200 OLPH (high school) alums returning to their alma mater to coach. At the Men's Club Kick-Off Party this May, we will honor the 40th Annual Mario Zanoni Award winner and the 2nd Annual Robert Hicks award winner.

On Saturday, February 10, our parish will honor all married couples at a special Mass at 5:00 pm. The liturgy will include a renewal of vows in addition to beautiful music and readings. We hope all married couples will attend to receive the prayers and blessings of our faith community.

On January 10, the OLPH Business Networking Ministry hosted the third annual Youth Summer Job Fair. This year saw a record number of employers and vendors, 11, and a record number of job seekers, 107. Many job seekers  - looking for their first job - brought a parent, adding to the energetic atmosphere of the evening. The event gave them an opportunity to participate in an informal venue learn about potential job opportunities and expectations.

Please join the Institute for Diaconal Studies at St. Philip the Apostle, Northfield on Wednesday, January 17 at 7:30pm. The Exploring the Diaconate session will take place in the John Paul II Room.
Directors of the Institute will welcome you and discuss all aspects of the archdiocese’s deacon formation program, including application requirements and all elements of the formation journey. Wives of potential applicants are welcome and urged to attend.
