Our Lady of Perpetual Help is excited to welcome Christopher Weiland as a permanent deacon of the parish upon his ordination.
We are organizing a group of about 50 OLPH volunteers to participate in a Farmer’s Market style food give-away event, sponsored by the Greater Chicago Food Depository, at St. James on Saturday, June 9. We will organize rides, leaving at about 7:00 am from the OLPH parking lot and returning early afternoon.
This is a wonderful family activity. Please consider joining in this enriching outreach to the needy who call upon the St. James Food Pantry.

Feed the Homeless, Catholic Charities, Des Plaines
We will be feeding the homeless who visit the Catholic Charities soup kitchen in Des Plaines on Thursday, June 7. Contact Kathy Quinn (details below) to participate or to donate to offset the $410 cost for this meal. It takes both donors and volunteers to make these visits happen.
In a few weeks, we will welcome Christopher Weiland as a permanent deacon to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Please continue to pray for Christopher and his family as Christopher makes the final preparations. The OLPH Men’s Basketball League instituted a new award this season in honor of longtime player and parishioner Mark Puch, who passed away in August. Mark will be remembered for his leadership, hustle, toughness, and all-around passion for the game. A player from the Over 40 League will be identified each season by the team captains and league commissioner to receive the annual Mark Puch Award. The Knights of Columbus, Father Dussman Council, is hosting an "All You Can Eat" Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on Sunday, April 22, 4:30 - 7:00 pm at St. Catherine Laboure, Marian Hall.
