The OLPH Men’s Club would like to thank everyone who attended, volunteered and supported the 9th Annual OLPH Outdoor Mass and Block Party. Led by Fr. Boland and our wonderful priests, our parish celebrated mass together on the rectory lawn and then enjoyed a wonderful night of food, games and plenty of socializing, all the while supporting Sr. Paulanne’s Needy Family Fund and the many great causes of the Men’s Club.

For over thirty years the Needy Family Fund, under the leadership of Sister Paulanne, has answered the call of those in our parish and community who are in ﬁnancial crisis. As always, every single dollar donated to Sister Paulanne's Needy Family Fund remains here to serve these local individuals and families.
The goal of Sister Paulanne's Needy Family Fund is to provide hope, assistance, and encouragement to clients, so they may move to a self-sustaining life whenever possible.

It’s almost Hoops time and the start of the Sunday Morning Basketball League is approaching. The league will feature a full schedule plus playoffs and will conclude in mid March (14 games at least). Cost is $150.The deadline for paid registration is Tuesday October 16. The teams will be drafted in late October and games will start soon after that. (Pomillo Division – Over 40 years Akyroid Division – Under 40 years)

The Ministry of Bereavement and Father Jeremiah Boland invite all those who have lost a loved one during the past year to a special Mass of Remembrance on Friday, November 2, 7:00 pm. A reception at the Rectory will follow. Please bring a framed picture of your dearly departed one. We will display these pictures during the Mass, and you will be invited to place the picture in our Chapel of Remembrance for the month of November.

In order to protect our young people, the Archdiocese requires that any volunteer working with our youth attend Virtus Training and agree to a background check.
OLPH Religious Education will be hosting a VIRTUS program onsite on October 25 in McDonnell Hall at 6:30 pm. These training sessions normally last about 2 ½ - 3 hours.

Please help young mothers in difficult circumstances by taking a baby bottle in the church foyer during the month of October. Filling it with your loose change will directly support the free, life-affirming programs offered at local crisis pregnancy centers. The present crisis in our Church has caused many to question their faith as well as the leadership of the Church. We are saddened at the suffering of the victims, for as the body of Christ, when one of us is hurting, we are all hurting. In response to the clergy sexual abuse crisis, Mundelein Seminary organized a Novena for the Healing of Our Church from September 7 - 15. For nine days, Catholics throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago and around the country united in prayer for healing, justice and hope by attending special Masses at parishes throughout the Archdiocese or receiving the Novena prayer via email.
