Dear Parishioners, I am excited to share with you about my upcoming concert which will be on November 20 at 3 pm in the Church. The theme is about returning. It has been a long process for everyone, to return to life in the new normal, with things having opened up again. Also, this past summer I had a fall which led to 5 broken bones in my left hand, surgery and a continuing period of recovery.

This concert is also about a return for me in that way, back to the concert stage, behind the piano. In addition, it is also an album release concert for my third album, entitled, “Impromptu”, my first CD in 9 years. I am also excited to share that the concert will also feature an inspiring new composition that I have written with the lyrics of Cantor Jay O’Brien called ‘Blessing of Return’. Our Festival Choir will sing this new composition and my psalm “Precious in the Eyes of the Lord”. The Children’s Choir will also share a performance of my psalm “This is the Day”. Our violinist, Tony Kawalkowski will add his wonderful playing on various selections. This concert will run about 90 minutes and will not have an intermission.

Guild 22 has kindly agreed to sponsor this free concert and once again will provide refreshments after the concert. My new CD will be available before and after the concert. I hope that you will mark your calendars and come and celebrate this return together. Thank you for all of your ongoing support and kindness. It has been a pleasure to serve God with you for all of these years. Russell Stern Music Director at OLPH Church.
