Ministry of Care Training

Ministers of Care bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are homebound, living in nursing homes, or in the hospital. They share with them the word of God in scripture, pray with them for the Church and the world, and offer them companionship. Through the Ministry of Care we are able to keep long-time parishioners of OLPH connected and active in our faith community.

The work of the Ministry of Care is open to all members of our parish community, and a basic training course for new Ministers of Care will begin on Tue., Jan. 28.

The training will take place on five successive Tuesday evenings. Each session will focus on a particular aspect of the Ministry of Care.
Each weekly session will last two hours and will be facilitated by Rick Nash and retired priests who live at Presence St. Benedict Home in Niles.
Completion of this course qualifies you to receive the Archdiocesan mandate to bring Communion to the sick, homebound and hospitalized of our parish.

If you think God might be calling you to this most important ministry, please contact Rick Nash for more information or to register for the training sessions (847-651-8718
or rick.nash@comcast.net).
