Every day more than 38,000 blood donations are required to meet the needs of hospitals and emergency treatment facilities. Blood is traditionally in short supply during the winter months due to the holidays, travel schedules, inclement weather, and illness. Because a reduction in donor turnout can put our nation’s blood inventory at a critical low, it is essential that people become aware of the need for blood donations. The need for blood is great and we want to be sure that we can maximize our donations. We have a target of 100 pints of blood for this year’s drive!
Proper ID is required to donate blood. A LifeSource or military ID, driver’s license, or employee badge with picture and full name are all approved forms of ID. Birth Certificate along with a picture ID that includes the donor’s full name will also be accepted.
