Ministers of Care bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are homebound, living in nursing homes, or in the hospital.
Evolve Adult Education Ministry presents: "Judge, Chieftain, King: Reflections on the Books of Samuel"
"Deception and treachery, lust and adultery, ambition, jealousy, and murder-no this is not a soap opera. It's the content of the Books of Samuel. Few sections of the Bible are as shocking as the stories of Samuel, Saul, and David. The transition from the period of the judges to that of the monarchy is set out in all its splendor, its intrigue, and its scandal. In this presentation, we will explore the historical, literary and theological aspects of the Books of Samuel.'
Note: this program, while always open to all, will be of special interest to those parishioners who are participating in the Scripture Study groups starting again this Fall, since they have chosen the Books of Samuel as their focus.
Our presenter will again be Dr. Pauline Viviano, a retired Associate Professor of Theology from Loyola University in Chicago.
