Candlemas
6:30am Mass and 8:30am Mass
On Wed., Feb. 2, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. It commemorates the day Jesus’s mother Mary presented Jesus to God at the Temple in Jerusalem after observing the traditional 40-day period of purification (of mothers). This day is also known as Candlemas. Therefore, it has been a tradition in the Church to bless candles on this day. We invite all parishioners, wishing to attend the both the 6:30am and 8:30am Mass on February 2, to bring their candles from home to be blessed.
