Our Book Club, led by Father Paddy Tyrrell, will meet on Monday June 18 at 7:00 pm in the Youth Office, located in the Monticello Building. The book we're presently reading, Interrupting Silence, is by Walter Brueggemann. When we read the story of the healing of blind Bartimaeus in St. Mark’s gospel, we easily read it as a wonderful miracle. It is certainly that. But the author studies it from the point of view of the crowd silencing Bartimaeus. He brings us back to the trial of Jesus before Pilate.
All are welcome! There is no fixed membership in the Book Club. Copies of the book are available in the rectory office.
