On your registration form you will notice a line called Mutual Classroom Buddy. You may place the name of one child that your child would like to be with in class. The child listed must also put your child's name on his/her registration form as well. There will only be one mutual classroom buddy listed on your registration form for each child. Classroom buddies are optional and I ask that you do not place children together that will distract others during class. I can not guarantee buddies on late registrations received after July 1, 2011. I have also found that students in Grades 6th through 8th have mature social skills and can focus better if they are not with close friends, so the classroom buddy option is only for grades Pre-K through 5th grades.

About Religious Education
The Religious Education (RE) program of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish is essential to carrying out the Parish mission to teach and preach the gospel to all people. The program provides spiritual formation and religious education to families, which furthers the goals of the Parish.
Parents, through word and example, are the primary faith educators of their children. The RE program helps parents in their work by teaching our rich Catholic heritage and provides a basis for faith formation.
The Religious Education Program at Our Lady of Perpetual Help provides Catholic faith formation to children in grades Preschool through Eighth Grade who attend the community public schools. The Archdiocese of Chicago requires two years for the preparation and reception of a sacrament and encourages participation in all grades of formation. The students in Grades 1 and 2 are prepared for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and students in Grades 7 and 8 are prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
This process is carried out not only by classroom discussion and teaching, but also through participation in prayer, special celebrations and worship opportunities, and service to others. In this way, the child is led to a closer relationship with God, other children, and the total Christian faith community.
this year again we will be offering classes for pre-kindergarten children
Classes will be offered for your child who will be entering Kindergarten in September, 2012. This class will be held on Saturday mornings only. When completing your RE Registration, please review the Schedule of Classes (the link is listed on this page also) for the 2011-2012 school year taking into consideration the schedule of your child's other activities. Changing classes after registration has been processed or once classes have begun is highly discouraged. A $50.00 fee will be assessed for any changes once registration has been received in our office and processed.
