Join the Music Ministry

We are looking for more singers and instrumentalists. The liturgical season is now starting, and our choirs and ensembles start rehearsing in September.

All our groups from Children's Choir to Adult Festival Choir rehearse on Tuesday evenings. Refer to the Description of Groups at the right for details.

Music

Our Lady of Perpetual Help places great importance on music. We believe that a church music program includes music that helps worshippers become closer to God. It encourages the assembly to sing because they are excited by what they hear. It inspires people to participate in the music ministry, sharing their time and talent. It not only is inspiring, but also is like a family where each member can come for encouragement and support. Most of all, the program’s focus is on serving God.

Fall 2009 Description of Groups

Cantors

Cantors are liturgical ministers who lead the assembly in song. Cantors are scheduled for 1-3 Masses a month depending upon the church’s need and the cantor’s availability. A Schola Cantorum made up of our cantors will sing monthly at different Masses. Cantors teach music to the assembly, share in proclaiming the Word of God, and lead moments of worship through solo song.
