The Respect Life Committee at Our Lady of Perpetual Help is committed to promoting and building a more just society, consistent with our Catholic beliefs, where every human life is cherished and protected from conception until natural death.

Membership is open to all OLPH parishioners who have a passion for the dignity and sanctity of all human life and a desire to share that beautiful truth in a peaceful and compassionate manner.

HEALTH CARE PROXY

On March 25 the Respect for Life Committee sponsored a talk on End-Of-Life Issues at OLPH Church. Monseigneur Dempsey, Pastor of Saint Philip the Apostle in Northfield, spoke to the group. During the talk, a health care proxy document was distributed.  This document is used primarily to identify a health care ‘agent’ to make decisions on your behalf and to establish treatment preferences based on your Catholic faith, in case you become incapacitated or incompetent.

Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago, has requested that Catholics contact their State Representatives to voice their opposition to the so-called “Reproductive Health and Access Act.”  This bill is formally known as House Bill 6205 in the Illinois General Assembly. Read the Cardinal’s Letter.
